City of Shakopee Project Bid vs Cost Estimate Comparisons

As part of the 2022 ‐ 2026 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) process staff analyzed the cost estimates provided in the two previously adopted capital improvement plans with new cost estimates based on the bid award. Projects that were competitively bid in the most recent completed year were included for the comparison. A comments field has also been included to provide further detail. By reviewing our assumptions with previous project, staff continues to work to improve their processes and methods used for cost estimating. However, there are many factors when it comes to factoring the timing of the project and future construction costs (many of those factors are outside city control).
