Santa’s mailbox will be at the Community Center December 2–10 .

MINI-BALLERS Bounce your way into learning the fundamentals of basketball. Participants will run drills to help with dribbling, passing, and shooting. Our Caregiver Services offer a variety of ways to get the support you need to maintain your own life balance, health, and happiness. Caregiver Services offered are Caregiver Consultation, Caregiver Coaching, Education and Support Groups, and Family Meeting Facilitation. Lisa Engdahl , LSW , a social worker specifically working with the Scott County area, will be available to answer questions and provide support. AQUATICS The Shakopee Aquatics program utilizes the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program. Please refer to the level descriptions on the city website ( www.ShakopeeMN.gov/aquatics ) to choose the one that most closely fits your child’s swimming ability. If you have questions on level placement, please call 952-233-9528. It is common for a child to repeat a level before advancing to the next level. Our instructors are committed to teaching your child the necessary skills at each level. Additional practice outside of class time is essential for improved skill acquisition and retention.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSES The Community Center offers a variety of classes for ages 12 and up (12–14 year olds may participate when accompanied by a parent/guardian). Classes are taught by certified instructors in a comfortable setting with safety and fun in mind. Reservations are required for classes. To make a class reservation or view a current class list, visit at www.ShakopeeMN.gov/ recreation/community-center/fitness . When arriving for classes, check in at the front desk, and then scan your membership card or pay the daily fee. Consult with your physician prior to beginning any new exercise program.

FITNESS ORIENTATIONS Get acquainted with our cardio equipment and strength machines as well as fitness floor etiquette. A certified personal trainer will demonstrate and answer questions on the proper use and setting adjustments of each machine. A fitness orientation is required for all youth, ages 12–14, prior to use of the fitness center. After attending the fitness orientation, youth may work out on the fitness floor with a parent/guardian. Fitness orientations are offered each month on the first Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., the third Tuesday at 6 p.m., and the third Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Please see website for dates and to register. Pre-registration required; registration ends one day prior to orientation. Fee: $20. Members will receive a $20 refund after successfully completing orientation.

This class is designed for those with Parkinson’s but is open to all who need to improve mobility and balance. Day Time Code PEDALING FOR PARKINSON’S This indoor cycling program is designed to increase endurance, mobility, and balance. You will progress from week to week at your own pace. PARK FACILITIES A variety of facilities located within the city’s parks and trail system are available for use by the public. For exclusive use of a facility for a given date and time, a shelter reservation is required and can be made by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at least seven days in advance of the proposed date(s) of usage. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Rental fees and deposit must be paid with the submission of the reservation form.
