Downtown Farmers Market, Rhythm on the Rails return

"2020 was a difficult year, but one of the toughest parts was not being able to enjoy the company of friends, families and neighbors while taking pleasure in our own communities," said Main Street and Communications Director Ashley Grotewold. The Shakopee Farmers Market is coming back with a new day, time and location. The Chamber has also expanded the farmers market to a “Farmers & Makers Market," which will include not only local farmers and produce vendors, but also crafters, artisans, food and beverage, music, nonprofit organizations and more. "We wanted to create an all-encompassing shopping experience at our farmers market," Grotewold said. The new Downtown Shakopee Farmers Market will be take place Friday afternoons, from 2 to 6 p.m. in the back River City Centre parking lot facing Highway 101. The market has also been expanded to run June 4 through Oct. 29. The chamber is also bringing back Rhythm on the Rails summer concert series. "Thanks to the preparation of our teamwith our Covid preparedness plans, and the newest guidelines and regulations brought forth by the CDC and state of Minnesota, we feel confident that Rhythm on the Rails will be the amazing event this year that it’s always been," Grotewold said. The five-week event includes vendors, food and beverage, a family fun zone, great music and a vibrant atmosphere. Rhythm on the Rails runs Wednesday nights from 6 to 9 p.m. July 14-Aug. 11 in Downtown Shakopee.
