LIFEGUARD TRAINING This course trains individuals to become a professional lifeguard. Instruction includes CPR and first aid. Students must attend all classes to obtain a LGT certificate. Prerequisites include: Student must be at least 15 years old, able to swim 350 yards using front crawl and breaststroke, able to dive down nine feet to retrieve object and tread water for two minutes. JR. LIFEGUARD PROGRAM The Junior Lifeguard Program provides an opportunity to learn about being a lifeguard and to bridge the gap between the learn-to-swim program and lifeguard training. Course content includes: waterfront safety, lifesaving techniques and procedures and swimming skill advancement. Upon completion of the course, participants who complete 20 hours of volunteer services at the SandVenture Aquatic Park will receive a refund of half the registration fees.
