Community policing is at the core of what makes a great police department The Shakopee Police Department’s mission is to provide services with integrity and professionalism, protect citizens through enforcement of the law, and work in partnership with our community to enhance the quality of life in the City of Shakopee The department understands that community engagement works best when it is consistent, authentic, and intentional Our community engagement efforts are meant to build trust, improve communication, and reinforce our goal of being a community oriented police department We take great pride in how our members connected with our residents in 2023 and look forward to growing this collaboration in the future

JANUARY January 30–February 10 | Diaper Drive In honor of the late Janna Wood (our former Crime Prevention Specialist), Shakopee PD hosted its 7th annual Diaper Drive All diapers were given to Shakopee Community Assistance to help families in need

FEBRUARY

February 18 | Polar Plunge Shakopee PD raised more than $4,000 and 14 officers/staff jumped into the icy waters of Prior Lake to show support for the Special Olympics

MARCH

March 24 | SHS Industry Tours Sophomore students visited our department as part of the Shakopee High School Industry Tours Students got a chance to ask our officers questions, tour our department, check out the squads and of course try on some SWAT gear! March 28 | Egg Hunt & Candy Grab Officers helped out at the Annual Egg Hunt & Candy Grab hosted by the Shakopee Parks and Recreation Department
