Safe Routes to School Plan
TRAFFIC CIRCLES (MINI ROUNDABOUTS)
Description
Traffic circles are raised circular islands constructed in the center of residential intersections. They may take the place of a signal or four-way stop sign, and calm vehicle traffic speeds by forcing motorists to navigate around them without requiring a complete stop. Signage should be installed with traffic circles directing motorists to pro ceed around the right side of the circle before passing through or making a left turn.
