Pizza Hut completed a major renovation of its site adjacent to McDonalds in 2022. St. Francis Regional Medical Center completed its 15,000 square-foot Emergency Room expansion and expansion of the Cancer Center. They are now working on plans for a surgery center. A new 19,000 seat amphitheater was announced at Canterbury. This $50 million facility will be a state-of-the-art facility with construction to be completed in 2023. Industrial: Scannell Properties completed its 136,500 and 114,000 square-foot office/warehouse development. Johnson Anderson, which opened in 1983, has completed a 15,400 square foot addition. They are one of the largest custom envelope and printing operations in Minnesota. W.P.T. Capital completed the 505,000 square foot Southwest Logistics Center valued at more than $30 million at the SM Hentges development site. SM Hentges has under contract all three of the remaining industrial sites in its park. United Properties completed the construction of a 310,000 square foot speculative warehouse building at 3200 4 th Avenue East and has leased the building to two tenants. Mesenbrink Construction recently completed a 12,000 square-foot multi-tenant industrial building on the east side of Shakopee at 7380 County Road 101. Mesenbrink Construction has constructed a 2 nd 12,000 square-foot build-to-suit industrial building at 7480 County Road 101 OPUS development has land under contract in the west end for more than 1.2 million square feet of business park uses. Quality Forklift has acquired a site on 12 Avenue along Hwy 169 to construct a new 100,000 SF corporate HQ, sale and maintenance facility. Inland Development purchased 26 acres in Dean Lakes along Hwy 169 and has submitted permits for two business park buildings totaling more than 300,000 SF. Public: The Ridge Creek Park was completed at the end of 2021. This $4 million park includes a board walk, sitting areas and wildlife observation sheds. Scott County completed a $60 million addition and improvements to the Scott County Government Center. The XCEL Energy Mountain Bike Park was completed in June 2021. This is the first mountain bike course in Shakopee and will also be used by the High School team for training and special events. The City completed a master plan and wayfinding signage plan for the Vierling Greenway Trail. The City completed a master plan for Scenic Heights Park that includes a new accessible playground and future pickleball courts. The City completed construction of Stagecoach Park and Jennifer Lane Park. The City also made major improvements including adding a $250,000 playground to Scenic Heights Park. Shakopee Public Utilities completed construction of a new Water Tower in the Windermere Development, which is 135 feet tall and has a capacity of 750,000 gallons. Shakopee Public Utilities has been approved to construct a new Electrical Substation in the West End. Major Initiatives The city completed an Alternative Urban Area Review (AUAR) for the Southern End of Shakopee. This area is almost 450 acres and will have more than 1,000 homes at build out. The city is installing a lift station and a new sewer line to service the West End of the city.
