For the year ended December 31, 2019, the City recognized pension expense of $842,889 for its proportionate share of General Employees Fund’s pension expense. In addition, the City recognized an additional $13,667 as pension expense (and grant revenue) for its proportionate share of the State of Minnesota’s contribution of $16 million to the General Employees Fund. At December 31, 2019, the City reported its proportionate share of the General Employees Plan's deferred outflows of resources and deferred inflows of resources, and its contributions subsequent to the measurement date, related to pensions from the sources as follows.
